Finding the next big stories, and new solutions to age-old problems of behavioral health coverage.
During this workshop we’ll take a deep dive into the following topics:

How should we reaction journalistically to school shootings?
How do we cover the real world of drug addiction, and not just the politics?
How can we get and report with mental health records?
How should our stories navigate the diagnosis and treatment wars between the “medical” model, the “trauma” model, the “behavioral” model and the “twelve-step” model?

During this workshop, you will be introduced to top journalists and experts from around the country including Katharine Seelye of the New York Times and Julia Lurie of Mother Jones.
