Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of the summer season and in the wake of Sandy the question is, what kind of season will it be? Dave Heller gets an update on the “state of the shore” , looking at both New Jersey and Delaware beaches. We’ll also visit the Memorial Day parade in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, where thousands turned out to honor the nation’s fallen soldiers. Later on the show, State Impact reporter Susan Phillips sheds light on the effects of natural gas drilling on well water, Chris Satullo ponders what helps facilitate good discussions on race relations in a diverse city, and astronomer Derek Pitts explains why NASA’s senior Mars rover, opportunity, is moving so slowly.
