On July 12, a 21-year-old bike courier is accused of fatally stabbing a real estate developer near Rittenhouse Square, and the case has sparked a debate about the role of class and race. On this episode of The Why, Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News reporters Barbara Laker and Wendy Ruderman walk us through the lives of these men — one white, raised in a Philly suburb with money and second chances; and one black, surrounded by poverty which his hard work could not help him escape.
