Wyck Historic House launches second-annual ‘Behind the Fence’ series [gallery]

Germantown’s 323-year-old Wyck Historic House & Garden hosted the first of four events in its free “Behind the Fence” festival series on Saturday.

The “Summertime Storytelling” gathering was billed as a way for attendees to “learn about the Wistar-Haines family, who resided at Wyck for over nine generations … [and] see some of their quirky, vast collection of things and learn about how personal histories provides inspiration for our future.”

Remaining festival events include Homegrown: Food Roots, Culture, and Community (Aug. 10), Beyond the Buzz: 4th Annual Philly Honey Fest (Sept. 7) and Fall Harvest: Nature’s Curiosities (Oct. 12). Visit Wyck’s website for more information.
