Wilmington Police arrest one of their own for bigamy

Wilmington Police officer Wilbur Justice faces bigamy and forgery charges.  He’s accused of marrying a second wife last September.

A three-year veteran of the force, Justice was arrested by his fellow officers Wednesday night after a background check by the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement discovered the double marriage.  Police say Justice married his first wife in 2008, then falsely claimed that he was not married on a marriage application submitted in August 2012.

The 45-year-old Wilmington resident has been suspended from his job in the Wilmington PD Uniformed Services Division without pay pending the result of the investigation.
