West Philly town watch groups to be awarded for assisting in arrest
A town watch group in West Philadelphia is being celebrated for assisting with an arrest last week.
The 48th Street Neighborhood Town Watch patrols 47th to 49th streets between Baltimore and Kingsessing avenues. Members Patty Bulack, Charles Hamilton and Bruce Dorpalen will get commendatory letters from the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Safety for helping arrest the suspect who robbed a student at knifepoint.
The West Philly Local has a description of how it all came together, beginning with the members’ neighborhood walk and ending with Hamilton helping police officers track down the suspect.
