A 17-year-old Toms River resident suffered minor injuries after he crashed on a Toms River roadway just as snow started falling Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Aviv Yefet was traveling north on New Hampshire Avenue at 3:11 p.m. when his vehicle struck a utility pole, said Ralph Stocco, Toms River Police Department spokesman.

The 2014 Honda CRV flipped and landed on its roof, and the utility pole snapped, sending live wires to the ground, Stocco added.

Police expect a closure on New Hampshire Avenue between Hickory Street and North Maple Avenue for several hours while utility crews undertake repairs.
