Villanova man gets 9 to 23 months in Main Line drug ring

A prep school graduate has been sentenced to nine to 23 months for his role in a ring that sold drugs to high school and college students in Philadelphia’s affluent Main Line suburbs.Nineteen-year-old Timothy Brooks of Villanova pleaded guilty last fall to participation in a corrupt organization, conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute.

Brooks tearfully apologized for his actions and for disappointing relatives, friends and others. Supporters said he has helped others while in treatment for alcohol abuse.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neil said he believes Brooks had a bright future, but he had to sentence “the version of you that was actively selling weed to high school kids along the Main Line.”

Twenty-five-year-old Neil Scott was sentenced earlier to five to 15 years.

Both graduated from The Haverford School, a $35,000-a-year prep school.
