Social media site Twitter has suspended an account that was being used to criticize student and administrators in a central Pennsylvania school district.
The Centre Daily Times reports State College police are trying to determine who made the insulting posts, and officials with the State College Area School District says any students involved could face discipline.
The person or persons using the account called @SCHateTweets targeted 50 students at the district’s high school as well as Principal Scott DeShong and Superintendent Bob O’Donnell.
O’Donnell says Twitter agreed to suspend the account, which was used to criticize students for everything ranging from their personalities and appearance to alleged sexual activity and drug use.
O’Donnell says, “We believe it is a high school student or several high school students and we will hold them accountable.”
