Trash collector dies after being run over by his truck

Authorities say a trash collector in suburban Philadelphia has died after he was run over by his truck.

Investigators say the 28-year-old Ridley Park man was trying to catch up to the truck when he fell and was caught under a tire Tuesday afternoon.

Police Chief Robert Frazier tells The Philadelphia Inquirer that the nine-year veteran of Suburban Waste Removal was in the driver’s blind spot.

    Authorities didn’t immediately identify him.
