Three questions for the candidates for Delaware Governor

WHYY gives the chance to answer 3 questions about issues in the upcoming campaign. We won’t edit their responses if they keep their answers to a minute and address the issues in the question.  We hope this will begin a conversation about the issues.

This summer our WHYY mayoral forums expressed concern that our educational system isn’t up to the task of preparing all the state’s children for 21st century jobs. What needs to be done to improve graduation rates and the job readiness of our graduates, and how will you pay for those steps?

Growing the job picture in the state will be critical over the next 4 years. Is there a process you would like to see expanded or changed to insure Delaware is competitive in attracting new businesses or growing existing ones?

Fisker and Bloom energy are examples of the types of new technology that has been courted to come to Delaware.  What does the state need to do to be successful in attracting such business development?
