Teenager killed by car on Route 130 in Burlington County
Authorities say a man was driving under the influence when he struck and killed a teenager on a southern New Jersey roadway.
Burlington County prosecutors say Ricardo Patterson III could face criminal charges stemming from Sunday’s accident on Route 130 South in Burlington City. But they say a decision won’t be made until toxicology testing is completed.
The 42-year-old Willingboro man is accused of hitting 17-year-old city resident Antwan Timbers Jr.
The high school senior was walking with a friend off the roadway when he was struck around 12:10 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Timbers’ friend wasn’t hurt in the accident.
Prosecutors say Patterson remained at the scene. He was cited for driving under the influence and reckless driving.
A telephone number for Patterson could not be located Sunday.
