Teen gets 25 to 80 years for killing man walking his dog
A 17-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the slaying of a Philadelphia man who was out walking his dog.
Philly.com reports the boy was sentenced Thursday to 25 to 80 years behind bars.
Authorities say the boy and two others had just finished playing basketball in March 2015 when they decided to rob someone. Investigators say the trio targeted 51-year-old James Stuhlman, who was shot to death even though he pleaded for his life.
The boy, who was 15 at the time of the killing, apologized to Shulman’s widow, saying, “I took a special man from you.”
Stuhlman was the owner of a suburban landscaping company and took nightly walks with his dog, a labradoodle named Molly.
