Suspect held in slaying of man found in suitcase near Philly airport

A man faces murder charges in the homicide of a man whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase near Philadelphia International Airport last month, authorities said Monday.

Prosecutors and police in Delaware County said 25-year-old Thomas Brennan of Philadelphia was arrested Sunday on murder and related charges in the death of 41-year-old Scott Bernheisel, whose body was found May 28 in Tinicum Township.

Officials said township police found out that the victim had been staying in a South Philadelphia house where Brennan had also been a resident.

Police and prosecutors allege that Brennan killed the victim and stored his body in a closet in a sleeping bag before putting it in a suitcase and abandoning it near the airport.
