Stretch of Route 539 in Ocean County closed due to serious crash
A significant portion of Route 539 in Ocean County is closed late this afternoon due to a serious crash.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department says the roadway is closed between Routes 70 and 72.
The crash is near milepost 19 in Lacey Township, according to emergency radio transmissions. Firefighters were dispatched to extricate at least one person trapped in a vehicle.
Two aeromedical helicopters were responding to a nearby landing zone around 6:20 p.m.
