South Jersey boy hit, killed by police car

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the accident that killed a 10-year-old boy who was struck by a police cruiser as he walked to a friend’s house for a sleepover.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday for the boy, whose name has not been released.

Officials say the boy was struck on busy Delsea Drive in Franklin Township around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The prosecutor’s office says the police vehicle was heading to a call and that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
