Sixers hire the fan who created Twitter accounts for mascot choices

The new Sixers owners have three job candidates for the team’s new mascot, but just one for the social media coordinator position.

When the Sixers introduced Big Ben, B. Franklin Dogg and Phil E. Moose last week, Penn State grad and Sixers fan Jerry Rizzo took it upon himself to create Twitter accounts for the two animal contenders.
CSNPhilly reports the team quickly squashed the accounts, giving Rizzo tickets in exchange for turning over the accounts. And then they hired him.

Starting today, Rizzo is the team’s social media coordinator. The new mascot hasn’t been announced yet.
