Sixers co-owner interested in Hostess sale

The Hostess liquidation isn’t a done deal, but if and when it is, Marc Leder is interested in acquisition.

Leder, a Sixers co-owner, is interested in acquiring the company, according to an Inquirer report.

No, the Sixers wouldn’t own Hostess. Leder’s Florida-based Sun Capital Partners, Inc. would be the new owner. But before any of that is possible, a bankruptcy judge needs to approve Hostess’ liquidation.

Yesterday, the company was ordered to mediate with its union before resorting to liquidation. Hostess makes Wonder Bread and Twinkies, to name a few, and has a plant in Northeast Philadelphia.
