Sister of accused Etan Patz killer says she told of confession in 1980s

The sister of a man who confessed last week to the 1979 killing of a little boy in New York now says she told police in the 1980s that her brother had killed a boy.

Norma Hernandez tells The Star-Ledger that she did not have details about the killing but told Camden police about it in the 1980s.

She says they did nothing at the time.

 

Pedro Hernandez confessed last week and is now charged with the murder of 6-year-old Etan Patz.

Norma Hernandez previously told The Associated Press that she would have turned her brother in if she’d had more information.

Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson tells The Star-Ledger that he had not heard her claims that she had reported her brother.
