Second armed commercial robbery in 3-day span hits Roxborough

An unknown male entered the M&M Deli on 458 Markle St. in Roxborough at 2 p.m. on Tuesday armed with a handgun.

Once inside, the suspect went behind the counter and pointing the handgun at the employee, he began to go through his pockets and taking money from the cash register. While the suspect filled a white bag with a red star logo (possibly a Macy’s bag) with cash and cigarettes, the employee pushed the silent alarm. At that point, the suspect began punching the employee repeatedly in the head until he was unconcious.

After taking an estimated $1,500 in cash and merchandise the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The complainant was treated for a broken orbital bone and was released from the hospital.

The suspect is described as a 6’0″ to 6’2″ black male in his early to mid 30 years-of-age with a muscular build and light facial hair. He was last seen wearing a blue/white button-up hooded sweatshirt, a tan baseball cap with a dark colored brim, white/black sneakers and checkered black/white boxer shorts.
