Schmidt, Singer, Anastasio win respective seats in City Paper’s mock election

    Philadelphia’s First District Council race proved a close one, with the four candidates nearly splitting the vote. Vern Anastasio came out on top, joined by Barbara Capozzi in the 2nd, Danny Savage in the 7th and Howard Treatman in the 8th.

    The above results are part of the numbers from City Paper’s mock primary, which has earned more than 2,000 votes since it ran late last week. So far, Al Schmidt and Stephanie Singer have two City Commissioner spots on lockdown. John Kromer won the Sheriff seat with 54 percent of the vote.
