Repairs to Willow Grove Avenue bridge temporarily close lanes to vehicles

Over the next three weeks the eastbound lanes of the Willow Grove Avenue bridge will be closed to vehicles.

Philadelphia Streets Department Commissioner David Perri, PE announced that structural damage was found by the Streets Department during a routine inspection and that the bridge will be partially closed to vehicular traffic while repairs are made.

Drivers should follow the posted detour route, which utilizes Gravers Lane from St. Martins Lane to Seminole Street as repairs will affect the eastbound lanes.

The bridge will still be open to westbound traffic with a 3 ton posting. And will not affect operations of the St. Martins train station. Pedestrians and bicycles will still be permitted to cross the bridge.
