Power restored after outage closes parts of Camden

Power is back on in downtown Camden only after college classes were canceled and some government buildings were closed.

The outage was likely cause by high winds and heavy rains Monday morning and affected about 2,000 electricity customers in the city, PSE&G said.

Power was restored by about 10:30 a.m.

By then, Camden County College and Rutgers University’s Camden campus had already called off morning classes. Classes beginning at noon or later were still on.

City Hall and the Board of Social Services closed for the day.
