Police to interview driver of SUV that struck, killed boy

Police say an attorney representing the driver of a sport utility vehicle that struck and killed a boy in southwest Philadelphia has contacted police, and a vehicle has been located.

Four-year-old Abdul Wilson was struck at about 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Kingsessing neighborhood and died at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Police said the vehicle fled.

Commissioner Charles Ramsey said investigators are trying to get the driver in so that a formal statement can be taken and the district attorney’s office can be given all the particulars of the case.

Police said an SUV believed to have been involved was located Tuesday.
