Police seize assault rifle outside Delaware Park casino
State police say a Wilmington man threatened Delaware Park employees and demanded security remove a relative from the casino, Sunday night.
Close to midnight, state troopers found 28 year old Brandon Buchanan in the casino’s parking lot and found a full 20-round magazine in Buchanan’s pants. In his car, police found an assault rifle and 2.5 grams of marijuana and a pipe.
A search of Buchanan’s home turned up another assault rifle, a 9mm semiautomatic handgun and more ammunition.
Buchanan is in custody on $62,350 cash bond. Police are not saying why he wanted his relative removed from the casino or what led up to Sunday night’s arrest.
