Police: Good Samaritans pull injured driver from burning car in South Jersey

Authorities say several good Samaritans pulled a driver from a burning car after he crashed into a tree.

Winslow Township police say Tyrone Gollopp Jr. was traveling alone and was eastbound on Erial Road when he lost control of his car just before 7 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then went into the Camden County Park/Recreational Area and struck a large pine tree.

Several people saw the crash and rushed to Gollopp’s aid. Authorities say they were able to pull the 20-year-old Sicklerville man from the vehicle as the flames started to spread.

Gollopp remained hospitalized Saturday in critical but stable condition.
