Police: Child, 3, shot in South Philly

Police say a 3-year-old child is in stable condition after he was hit by gunfire in south Philadelphia.

A police spokeswoman said the shooting was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the Gray’s Ferry section of the city.

Police said the boy was hit in the right thigh. He was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was reported in stable condition.

A 43-year-old man hit in the right leg by gunfire was also reported in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police said no arrests were immediately reported, and they had no initial information about the circumstances surrounding the gunfire.
