Planes and star trails over the Jersey Shore

“Ever wonder what airplane traffic is like on a typical night along the Jersey Shore?” asks Jersey Shore photographer Ray Yeager

Recently in Island Beach State Park, Yeager set his camera to long-exposure mode, capturing airplane traffic and star trails.

While he intended to capture the movement of stars, airplanes had a different plan.

“This was a little more than an hour. Most of them are in holding patterns for LaGuardia. Makes it really tough for star trails,” he explains, adding that the curved lines in the background are star trails, while all other lines are airplanes.
