Philly U men’s basketball coach heads to the hall of fame

National Coach of the Year, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year, member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

All of those things describe Herb Magee. And now the Philadelphia University men’s basketball coach can add another title to the list: Basketball Hall of Famer.

Magee will be inducted tonight in a ceremony at the Springfield, Mass. center. His 922 career wins put him in line with 10 others being inducted tonight, including NBA champ Dennis Rodman and four-time NCAA women’s coach of the year Tara VanDerveer.

It’ll all be televised on NBA TV starting at 6 p.m.
