Philly police ID suspect in Easter Sunday strangulation

Police say they’ve identified a Jamaican national living in a nearby community as a suspect in the Easter Sunday strangulation of a woman in West Philadelphia.

Police released a photograph Tuesday of 38-year-old Omar Lewis and said he’s been known to frequent West Philadelphia and neighboring Upper Darby. He also goes by Maurice Lewis.

He’s wanted in the April 5 death of 36-year-old Andrea Roberts.

Police found her body in the bedroom of her Willows Avenue home after a man went to a police precinct and told officers he’d received a voice message stating that she was dead.
