Penns Grove councilman hosts open house Thanksgiving meal

Not everyone is spending Thanksgiving with family and friends.

And for those near Penns Grove, N.J., with no place else to go, Borough Councilman Carl Washington and his mother will open their home. The mother and son will continue their tradition of spending Thanksgiving with anyone who needs a place to go, according to the South Jersey Times. It’s something they picked up from a longtime Penns Grove resident who used to do the same.

Visitors can dine in or eat out, and can expect to feast on all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings. The pair will also deliver to those who can’t make it to their home.
