Part of Pa. TV station roof collapses

A portion of the roof at a central Pennsylvania TV station has collapsed, forcing the staff to evacuate and stop broadcasting.

Station WGAL reports that the roof over an unused studio collapsed Friday afternoon in Lancaster.

Fire officials ordered about 100 people in the newsroom to evacuate, but there were no reports of injuries.

The station reports that a concrete support beam shifted and dropped. It’s unclear when staff will be allowed back in the building, but they are transmitting news and updates via the station website.
