Pa. law makes recruiting new gang members illegal

A bill signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett has made it illegal to recruit someone to join a gang in the state of Pennsylvania.

According to CBS3, it was Chester County District Attorney, Tom Hogan that pushed for the measure. Gang recruitment now comes with the punishment of either a misdemeanor or a felony, “depending on the level of coercion used to get a kid to join.”

The law will go into effect on Christmas Day.
