Pa. house cleaner accused of cleaning out clients

Police in a Philadelphia suburb say a woman cleaned clients’ houses and cleaned them out of more than $14,000 worth of silver flatware and jewelry.

The Bucks County Courier Times said 58-year-old Diane Scheetz of Bensalem was arraigned Friday on three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.

Middletown police did not release the name of the cleaning service that employed Scheetz from late 2012 through March of this year but said it is a small company with about 10 customers.

Authorities were first alerted to the thefts in March, when a homeowner discovered $5,300 worth of silver flatware and jewelry disappeared. Two similar reports were made in April and July.
