Outgoing freeholder will seek Magazzu’s Cumberland County seat

Instead of stepping back from the Cumberland County, N.J. Freeholder race as planned, James Dunkins will instead run for Lou Magazzu’s unexpired term.

Magazzu resigned earlier this month after nude photos he’d sent to a woman were posted on a website.

Dunkins, as the News of Cumberland County reports, planned not to seek a new term in November, but his announcement this morning mentions an “incredible” Democratic Party ticket he wants to be a part of.

Magazzu also resigned from his post as chairman of the National Democratic County Officials.
