Nutter issues executive order, gene therapy advances blood cancer treatment

    Welcome to a new week. We’ll get it started with Tom MacDonald’s report on the executive order Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is issuing today.Peter Crimmins and Emma Lee are out in West Chester for a story they’ll have for us later this week.

    Carolyn Beeler is looking at gene therapy at UPenn that’s advancing treatment of blood cancers, while Tauna English tells the story of a man with a pacemaker-like device in his brain.

    Ben Herold has some education stories in the works and Tom MacDonald will also bring us news from the Conference of Mayors’ view of the fiscal cliff.
