Nice weather expected for Countdown to Germantown Day event at Vernon Park

According to NBC10’s weather forecast, partly cloudy skies will accompany a high temperature of 56° which is good news for the organizers of Saturday’s Countdown to Germantown Day event at Vernon Park.

The event, scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the park between Germantown Avenue and Greene Street, and Chelten Ave. and Rittenhouse Street, is a kickoff for the Oct. 6 celebration of the 330th anniversary of the founding of Germantown.

For context’s sake, Philadelphia was founded less than a year earlier, on Oct. 27, 1682.

NewsWorks, which will both attend and cover Saturday’s event, has written several stories about it.
