Murder investigation near University of Delaware campus

Police in Newark are searching for two men suspected in the murder of a student at the University of Delaware.

The body of Peter Disabatino, 22, was found in his room at the Studio Green West Apartment complex in the 200 block of Thorne Lane, just before 9:30 Monday night.  He had been shot in the upper body.  He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police immediately began canvassing the area, looking for evidence and witnesses.  They also brought a canine team to try to track the suspects, but were unsuccessful.  They are looking for two men who were last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Disabatino was a student at the University’s Associate in Arts Program in Wilmington.  He graduated in 2011 from Appoquinimink High School in Middletown.
