Montgomery County double-shooting suspect dead after six-hour standoff with police

Many news outlets, including the Delaware County Daily Times, are reporting that the suspect in a double homicide earlier this weekend is now dead following a six-hour police standoff at a home in Trainer, Pa., where he had taken refuge.

Authorities believe that the suspect, identified as Mark Geisenheyner, 51, was connected to the fatal shootings of 43-year-old Joseph Shay, of Yarmouth, Mass., and 2-year-old Gregory Erdmann, of Fall River, Mass., that took place late Saturday in Douglass Township, in Montgomery County.

Few details are known about the circumstances of Geisenheyner’s death, but officials indicated a gunshot was fired in the basement during the encounter with police this morning.
