Modell’s taps Victorino for King of Prussia commercial
There’s a lot to be said about the new Modell’s advertisement featuring Phillie Shane Victorino.
We’ll start with this: The sporting good store probably deserves some credit for getting Victorino to agree to an ad that’s being used solely to redirect King of Prussia Mall patrons to the store’s new location inside the massive (sometimes overwhelming) shopping center.
If you’re not going to commit the minute and 15 seconds to watching the video above, we’ll break it down for you. Victorino arrives at KOP with hula dancers in tow. He’s confused by the giant sign on the old Modell’s location, but finds relief after descending the stairs to the new spot. Cue the credits.
NBC10’s Drew Magary graded the video’s advertising effectiveness. Despite landing a D for “cheap graphics,” Magary gives the ad an overall B. Wonder how he’d grade Victorino’s playing?
