Down the Shore bloggers Amy Z. Quinn and Justin Auciello appeared on NewsWorks Tonight Monday night. The segment helped introduce the NewsWorks’ blog to the wider WHYY-FM audience in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

This was a chance for those unfamiliar with Jersey Shore Hurricane News to hear from its founder, Justin Auciello, who named a White House recipient of its Champions of Change awards. The White House said he was recognized for his effort to provide accurate and timely information on JSHN during Superstorm Sandy. Auciello lives in South Seaside Park, which is one of the barrier islands hit hard by Sandy.

Regular readers of NewsWorks will be familiar with Amy Z. Quinn’s coverage of planning and zoning issues in Northwest Philadelphia. But Quinn has actually spent most of her reporting career covering New Jersey. She covered South Jersey for The Philadelphia Inquirer and covered many of the shore towns for The Asbury Park Press. She also has extensive family ties in Cape May, where she regularly visits. She is also a professor of journalism at Rowan University.

The blog first appeared on NewsWorks.org in February 2012 with Jen A. Miller, author of The Jersey Shore: Atlantic City to Cape May.
