Martin Luther King High School students plan walkout to protest Renaissance takeover

If an email sent last night is to be believed, students at Martin Luther King High School will stage a walkout today to protest the School District’s plan to turn the school into a Renaissance Match School. It will be the third such walkout at a high school in the last week.

The Public School Notebook published an email that says students will walk out today at noon in response to not being consulted about changes to the school. Those changes include teach layoffs that come with the Renaissance shift.

West Philadelphia High School and Audenreid High School have held similar walkouts.
