Manayunk’s “Santa on Ice” and tree lighting set for Saturday
Santa is coming to Manayunk this weekend.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday the community will gather at Canal View Park on Main Street to watch professional ice carver Rob Capone carve Santa’s sleigh out of a solid block of ice.
Shortly after, Santa will make a special appearance to take photos with visitors in his freshly-carved sleigh up until 4 p.m.
Two hours later, visitors are invited back to Canal View Park for the official tree lighting ceremony.
The Rival Bros Coffee Truck will be on hand to offer warm cups of coffee and hot chocolate to visitors while they take in the sights and sounds of local dance and musical performances.
The tree will be ceremoniously lit up before 8 p.m.
The best part? You don’t have to worry about parking. This Saturday, and every other Saturday until Christmas, parking is free at all meters throughout the city.
