Man shot in the face near Kingsessing expected to survive

    A 21-year-old man who was shot in the face on Friday night is expected to survive.

    The shooting happened during what is being reported as an attempted robbery.

    According to Philly.com, the victim was standing at 51st Street and Willows Avenue when another man came up to rob him. Using a handgun, the robber fired one shot at the victim and hit him in the face before taking off.

    The victim ran to a nearby fire station where he was treated by a medic and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

    The would-be robber/shooter was described as a black man with a light complexion in his early 20s. He is said to have a thin build and was wearing a red and black jacket.
