Man posing as landlord scams renter out of over $2K in East Falls

Police are looking to identify a man wanted for fraud in East Falls.

A woman reported that she looked at a residence for rent as of May 1 on the 3400 block of Henry Ave. On April 17, she paid $1,500 to a man who identified himself as David Moody. On April 24, she paid Moody an additional $700 to secure the apartment. 

On May 1, when she arrived at the apartment, she found a chain and lock on the property and realized she was the victim of a fraud. 

The photo above, provided by the Philadelphia Police Department, is one that was taken by the victim while the property was being shown to her.
