Kelvin Jeremiah named head of Philadelphia Housing Authority

Kelvin Jeremiah, interim chief of the Philadelphia Housing Authority, has been named as the agency’s president and CEO. Jeremiah assumed the interim position last year when then-CEO Michael Kelly stepped down.Kelly, who came to Philadelphia by way of New York City, recruited Jeremiah, whose job it was to rebuild the PHA’s audit and compliance department.

Jeremiah told the Inquirer he’s trying to change the culture of “splurge and excess” at the PHA.

Kelly was forced to resign last June when it was revealed he had an affair with a subordinate.
