In honor of Roe v. Wade anniversary, advocates gather in Center City to support access to safe abortions

It’s been 39 years since Roe v. Wade was enacted, and advocates and health care providers will gather in Center City this afternoon to mark the occasion with a call for better access to safe abortions in Pennsylvania.

Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, Raising Women’s Voices of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Pennsylvanians for Choice in Center City will be at Broad and Walnut streets at noon with other advocates and providers.
The announcement from Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania cites figures of 92 abortion restrictions enacted in 24 states in 2011. “Advocates are concerned that these attacks and others could drastically hinder a woman‘s ability to access safe abortion services in Pennsylvania.”
