Hostess announces liquidation, Baltimore geeks visit Philly

    Good morning, Feeders!

Tom is keeping an eye on City Council’s review of Philly’s “registered community organizations” list and procedures today while working on a voter registration story for Monday.

Emma Jacobs and Nat Hamilton are on their way to the Northeast to visit Philly’s Hostess plan following the news the company plans to liquidate.

Lizz Fiedler is checking out the latest details of a plan for a Philly-owned casino, and she’ll also file a story for Monday to kick off our feature on North Broad Street.

And why would a bunch of people from Baltimore take a day trip to Philly? For geek stuff, of course. Zack Seward will have that story later.

Next week, we’ll feature several stories about the development along North Broad Street. The landscape has changed over the last century — is the area ripe for revitalization? We’ll hear stories from the past, details of what’s currently in the works and plans for the future. All the stories will air Tuesday on NewsWorks Tonight at 6 p.m. on WHYY-FM, 90.9.
