A motor vehicle accident involving an overturned dump truck that occurred on the Garden State Parkway northbound near Exit 30 in Somers Point shortly after 10 a.m. today forced police to close all northbound lanes.

The dump truck spilled sand on the roadway at mile marker 30.2, according to a tweet from the New Jersey State Police.

The driver, who police have not yet identified, suffered a foot injury, police say.

Jersey Shore Hurricane News contributor Barbara E. Boeddinghaus Stone reports that there is a major backup near the accident scene.
