Handgun fired at West Oak Lane bar before $575 stolen

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding an unknown male who entered the Whisper Inn, 7610 Ogontz Ave. in West Oak Lane, on Dec. 18.

When he entered, ordered a drink while talking on his cellphone. After ordering, he exited the bar and came back in a short time later while continuing to speak on the phone. At 12:16 p.m. he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at an employee. He then walked behind the bar and began taking money from the cash registers.

While taking money from a second cash register, the suspect’s handgun fired, narrowly missing the employee it was pointed at.

The suspect took a total of $575 before heading south on Ogontz Ave.
